OR Assistant
As an OR Assistant, your exceptional organization and collaboration abilities assist in the operational success of the unit and patient outcomes. Location: Newark-Wayne Community Hospital Department: Surgical Services Schedule: As Scheduled (D/E/N & Weekends) Attributes: One (1) year of patient care and/or operating room experience in an accredited hospital preferred Basic computer skills Demonstrated understanding of aseptic technique Excellent communication skills and attention to detail Responsibilities: General Maintenance: Obtain supplies required for case carts and sub-sterile areas; responsible for cleanliness and safety of environment for all those within it; transport specimens, cultures and medications within the hospital Collaboration: Work with team to provide smooth workflow in peri-operative setting; work as a team to accomplish room turnover Patient Care: Assist in the transporting and positioning of patients as directed Education: Licenses/Certifications: Physical Requirements: Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
