Environmental Services Floor Technician Sr
This job is responsible for providing basic and specialty cleaning services to all areas of the hospital including patient rooms, offices, hallways, floors and public environments as assigned in order to maintain the hospital in a sanitary, safe and attractive condition. Work is performed independently and in accordance with facility standards and procedures. Incumbents may also collect and transport infectious and regular trash. Provide superior customer service by modeling the Brand Promise and Core Values. Responsibilities: Performs daily cleaning tasks in assigned areas including, but not limited to: washing ceilings and walls; mopping hallways, stairwells, and public areas; washing, waxing and/or vacuuming floors. Performs work operating manual, battery-powered and electric equipment; uses cleaning equipment such as mechanical floor cleaners, polishers, scrubbers and vacuums; cleans and maintains equipment such as janitor closets; monitors assigned areas and equipment for needed repairs and informs supervisor. As needed gathers and disposes of garbage, waste, soiled linen, regulated, and regular trash in the prescribed manner. Works with Supervisor and Project Planner on inter office moves and relocations moving furniture and other objects as needed. Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required. Shampoos and extracts carpeting and upholstery. Buff hard-surface floors and use cleaning machinery as needed. Strip, scrub, burnish, and wax floors as needed. Required Qualifications: One year Environmental Services experience required Two years Floor Care Experience required Preferred Qualifications: Friendly, kind and positive attitude Ability to prioritize and follow verbal and written instructions Customer service driven Education: Licenses / Certifications: Physical Requirements: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
