Health Systems Subject Matter Expert
Blue Water Thinking is seeking an experienced and dedicated Health Services Subject Matter Expert to join our team, supporting a large program within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of VHA healthcare and medical center operations, cultivated over 20+ years of direct experience. Responsibilities: Leverage extensive knowledge of health care delivery to integrate new work products with existing operations. Provide expert guidance on all aspects of medical center operations. Act as a liaison between the project team and VA stakeholders, ensuring alignment with VA healthcare policies and procedures. Monitor and assess healthcare delivery to identify areas for improvement. Collaborate with various VA departments to ensure the comprehensive and efficient delivery of healthcare services to Veterans. Minimum Qualifications: At least 10 years' experience as a healthcare IT consultant and experience in Oracle Millennium or another electronic health records system. Experience with VHA or the Department of Defense (DOD) Healthcare System is preferred. BA/BS degree. Understanding VHA's Veterans Equitable Resource Allocation (VERA) and Managerial Cost Accounting processes are critical to the position. At least 10 years' experience in data management in large enterprise-level environments that include multiple, complex technologies involving large amounts of data. The experience should include conducting comparative, trend, and predictive analysis of data and advanced ability to prepare comprehensive reports. Must be available to attend meetings at 810 Vermont Ave NW, Washington, D.C. 20240 without incurring travel expense to the Government. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Health Administration, Public Health, or a related field. Demonstrated experience in VA healthcare policy development and implementation. Previous experience working with the department of Veterans Affairs or military health systems. Experience managing projects that involve integration of medical, behavioral, and social health systems. Compensation: Salary for this position is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, location, the candidate's particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract specific affordability and organizational requirements.
