Healthcare It Consultant
We are seeking a highly experienced Healthcare IT Consultant with a distinguished track record of 20+ years in enterprise-level data management and healthcare IT. This Subject Matter Expert (SME) will provide advisory support on electronic health record (EHR) integration, data analytics, and strategic transformation within large-scale federal healthcare environments. Ideal candidates will possess extensive experience with Oracle Millennium or other EHR platforms and deep familiarity with data governance, reporting, and analytic frameworks in Veterans Health Administration (VHA) or Department of Defense (DoD) healthcare systems. Primary Responsibilities
Healthcare IT Strategy & Implementation Provide strategic guidance and subject matter expertise on EHR systems, particularly Oracle Millennium, or similar platforms. Advise on the design, configuration, and optimization of clinical information systems to improve healthcare delivery outcomes. VHA/DoD Integration Support Apply knowledge of VHA and/or DoD healthcare environments to support interoperability and IT transformation efforts. Ensure alignment with federal health IT strategies and data security standards. Data Analytics & Enterprise Data Management Lead large-scale data initiatives, including comparative, trend, and predictive analytics, to inform clinical and operational decisions. Oversee complex data flows across multi-platform environments, ensuring integrity, quality, and accessibility of information. Provide analytical insights and generate comprehensive reports tailored to executive leadership, program managers, and policy stakeholders. Cost Modeling & Financial Analytics Apply expertise in VHA's Veterans Equitable Resource Allocation (VERA) and Managerial Cost Accounting (MCA) systems to develop, validate, and interpret healthcare cost and utilization models. Collaborate with finance teams to integrate MCA and VERA insights into broader resource planning and policy decisions. Minimum Qualifications
20+ years of experience as a healthcare IT consultant in large enterprise environments. Hands-on experience with Oracle Millennium or another major EHR system. Strong understanding of federal healthcare systems, with preference for VHA and/or DoD background. Extensive experience in enterprise-level data management, including: Demonstrated expertise in VERA and MCA systems and their application within VHA. Proven ability to deliver clear, data-driven reports and dashboards for senior stakeholders. Desired Qualifications
Experience supporting federal IT initiatives or healthcare modernization programs. Familiarity with data privacy, FISMA/NIST compliance, and cybersecurity practices in healthcare. Ability to translate technical findings into actionable recommendations for non-technical audiences. About Aptive
