As the leadership phase of the campaign begins, the Division of University Advancement is accelerating the hiring of additional Alumni Engagement professionals campus-wide and is excited to build out its team. Responsibilities
The Coordinator of Student and Alumni Engagement supports initiatives that strengthen the connection between Florida State University (FSU) students, young alumni, and the FSU Alumni Association. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Student and Alumni Engagement, this position plays a key role in executing engagement programs, managing volunteer relationships, supporting student leadership logistics, and fostering professional development and philanthropy. The coordinator works closely with the Student Alumni Association (SAA), the FSU Career Center, and other campus partners to deliver meaningful programs and digital experiences. This role also supports the implementation of a student-to-young alumni journey map by helping design and coordinate key engagement touchpoints that connect students with alumni in impactful and intentional ways.
Virtual Engagement and Career Connections
Plans and manages virtual engagement opportunities for alumni and students, including the Demystifying series and other scalable digital programs. Serves as the liaison to the FSU Career Center, collaborating to deliver networking, mentorship, and professional development opportunities for both students and alumni.
Administers the FSU Connect mentoring platform (Protopia), increasing awareness and usage among students and alumni, and reporting on platform outcomes.
Ring Program and Student Traditions
Coordinates the logistics for Ring Week and support the planning and execution of the FSU Ring Ceremony alongside the Assistant Director and SAA volunteers. Contributes to elevating the Ring Program's visibility and tradition-building, ensuring a meaningful and well-branded experience for participants. Tracks participation and feedback to support continuous improvement and long-term strategic planning for ring-related events.
Student Alumni Association Programming and Logistics
Supports the Assistant Director, who serves as the main point of contact for the Student Alumni Association (SAA), by coordinating logistics for meetings, events, retreats, and student-led initiatives. Assists with the planning and implementation of SAA programming that promotes leadership development, philanthropy, and alumni engagement. Helps manage operational needs for SAA initiatives including communications, event planning, volunteer coordination, and execution of signature events like Ring Week. Collaborates with SAA leaders to ensure their programs meaningfully connect students with alumni, contribute to student development, and align with the Association's strategic goals.
Volunteer and Scholarship Stewardship
Coordinates and stewards student and young alumni volunteers, ensuring clear communication, strong recognition practices, and meaningful involvement opportunities. Serve as the primary liaison to FSU Alumni Association scholarship recipients, fostering a sense of connection and engagement with the Alumni Association. Tracks volunteer activity, event participation, and interactions using the university's CRM system to support data-driven decision making.
Journey Mapping, Strategy Support, and Team Collaboration
Supports the Assistant Director in implementing the student-to-young alumni journey map by identifying and coordinating critical milestones, touchpoints, and engagement opportunities. Ensures student-facing programs build natural bridges to young alumni engagement and include opportunities for students to connect directly with alumni. Provides logistical and programmatic support for broader Volunteer Engagement Team events and initiatives, contributing to a collaborative and mission-aligned team environment. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree and two years of experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and six years of experience. (Note: a combination of post high school education and experience equal to six years.)
Valid FL or GA Driver's License or the ability to obtain upon hire
