Lead Medical Assistant
We are seeking a full time 40-hour Lead Medical Assistant to work onsite Monday through Friday from 8:30am- 5:00pm or 8:00am-5:30pm. Our Lead Medical Assistants play an integral part in the operations of our community-based physician practices. Our lead Medical Assistant will be dedicated to clinical support as well as being the primary point of contact for our team of 6 medical assistants. Responsibilities: Communicates any change in staffing to both the Practice Manager and practice supervisor Reviews MA responsibilities and performance with the Practice Manager Orders office and medical supplies Maintains inventory of immunizations and checks expiration date Obtains prior authorizations for tests/medications/provision of care, as needed Provides assistance to providers with office procedures Coordinates pre-visit preparations including addressing the special needs of patients (i.e. comfort measures, communication, and other appropriate issues), ensuring relevant labs and tests are scheduled and completed prior to office visit, organization of paper chart, etc. Escorts patients to the exam rooms and take vital signs Performs a variety of patient care procedures within the Medical Assistant (MA) scope of practice, including but not limited to: injections and EKG's Qualifications: Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent required Licenses and Credentials: Certified Medical Assistant - Data Conversion - Various Issuers required, Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] - Data Conversion - Various Issuers preferred Experience: Experience as a medical assistant, with demonstrated proficiency in clinical and administrative tasks 3-5 years required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Strong leadership and team management skills Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and protocols Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical office software Ability to take vital signs, manual blood pressure, and collect blood samples and other specimens Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities Ability to multitask, prioritize, and adapt in a fast-paced healthcare environment Knowledge of HIPAA and other privacy and security regulations Additional Job Details: Remote Type: Onsite Work Location: 137 Main Street Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Employee Type: Regular Work Shift: Day (United States of America) Pay Range: $18.99 - $27.17/Hourly EEO Statement: Mass General Brigham Community Physicians, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
