Access Specialist

Position Purpose: Assist in fielding, screening, and triaging inquiry calls. Educate callers on Rosecrance and engage clients presenting as clinically appropriate. Provide clinical assessment to determine services in an ethical, legal, and moral manner within a safe and therapeutic environment, consistent with applicable regulatory and accreditation standards. Complete the admissions process for clients entering residential treatment. This includes any pre-certification calls for initial authorization. Participate as a team member in the delivery of addictions treatment services to patients and their families and facilitate the issues of recovery into their daily living situations. On-call is part of this position. Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, Addiction Studies or other related field, or equivalent experience and training Illinois Certified Addiction Counselor (CADC), or licensed in Illinois as a LSW or LPC which supersedes the CADC within 2 years of employment in addiction services. Excellent written and oral communication skills Ability to quickly establish rapport Computer proficiency required Ability to navigate and complete documentation in the electronic healthcare record Ability to accurately complete required documentation within the prescribed time frames Knowledge of accepted assessment techniques Knowledge of DSM IV TR diagnoses and appropriate criteria for each diagnosis Belief in the mission and vision of Rosecrance Qualifications: Demonstrated clinical competency in assessments and admissions Adequate written skills to accurately complete required documentation within the time frames prescribed Certified Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor or be certified within 24 months Must be emotionally and medically able to perform essential job responsibilities Essential Responsibilities: Schedule and conduct assessment interviews with potential clients and their significant others. Formulate initial diagnostic impression and appropriate recommendations. Provide case management and counseling services to assigned patients. Utilize intervention skills as required to place the patient in the appropriate level of treatment services. Maintain knowledge of community, school and recovery resources in order to make appropriate interagency referrals as required. Provide networking, linkage and follow-up with referral sources. Ensure that patient service records are maintained consistent with standards, rules and regulations. Work with the treatment team to develop the individual treatment plan and assist the patients with and treatment plan objectives. Document information in the patient service records consistent with rules and regulations. Participate in staffing sessions to review patient's progress and establish future clinical direction. Assume on-call responsibilities as scheduled or when necessary. Serve as a member of the Access Team and participate in all team meetings and activities. Understand and comply with all of the principles established by the Rosecrance Corporate Compliance Program and Code of Ethics. Perform all responsibilities in compliance with the mission, vision, values and expectations of Rosecrance. Deliver exceptional customer service consistently to every customer. Serve as a role model for other staff, patients and customers and demonstrate positive guest relations in representing Rosecrance. Assume other related responsibilities as assigned by management.
