Location: Frisco, Colorado Copper Mountain Resort is a vacation destination located 75 miles west of Denver, Colorado in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. Three vibrant, pedestrian-friendly village areas host lodging, retail outlets, restaurants, bars, and family activities. During the winter months, Copper's world-class terrain offers skiing and riding for all ages and abilities. Each summer, the mountain transforms into a playground for hikers, mountain bikers, and anyone seeking a genuine Colorado experience. Copper Mountain Resort is also home to Woodward Copper action-sports camps, programs, and training facility. Job Title: Race, Competition & Events Crew 1 Job Status: Seasonal Compensation and Benefits: Compensation: Proposed hiring rate of $19.00, actual pay will be adjusted based on experience. Benefits: This is a seasonal position eligible for season pass for employees/dependents and privileges at several other resorts. Several discount programs (i.e. food & beverage, retail/rental, tickets, etc.) also available. Job Summary: Exciting opportunity for an expert skier to join a hard-working, fun, rewarding team! This outdoor, full-time, seasonal, skiing position will help provide the highest level of operations for winter training and events. Seeking active, rugged, personable individuals, who have a strong work ethic and love being outdoors in a high alpine winter environment. This opportunity includes pre-event preparation work, event operations, construction, and disassembly of venues. Candidates will help implement major races, competitions, events, and training providing world-class venues and operations. You will have the opportunity to support the US Ski Team Speed Venue, training for World Cup teams, high volume Fall and Spring Team training, NORAMS, Grand Prix Big Air/Halfpipe, FIS Alpine, RevTour, Dew Tour, USASA Nationals, Special Olympics, IFSA, RMS and other race, competitions and events. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Add value to Copper Mountain and its Resort partners. Follow and adhere to Copper's Safety culture. Always provide outstanding guest service for internal and external guests. Be a Copper Mountain Team player. Support all Races, Competitions, Events, and other Copper Mountain department requests as directed by your manager and supervisors. Help to build, maintain, and tear down all Race, Competition and Event venues following all industry standards including all safety/protective systems: "A" and "B" net, tower nets, air bags, etc. Help to operate Coppers NASTAR / Public Racing venue daily. Operate vehicles, snowmobiles, rangers, hand tools and other equipment as directed by your manager and supervisors while following all company policies and procedures. Take care of all company equipment and maintain it as if it was your own. Ability to work long hours, most of it spent outdoors in a high alpine environment. Be a role model for new & returning employees on various duties and be a positive, constructive example to others. Bring ski area experiences and knowledge and share it with the team. Be forward thinking, efficient, punctual and follow the plan when involved in operations. Ensure our team is creating the best events possible. Maintain a professional profile with event officials, employees, and competition guests. Handle all inquiries and complaints in a professional and competent manner with a solution-based approach. Demonstrate problem solving with a professional demeanor when under pressure. Supports Managers and Supervisors with goals and objectives. Risk Management: Follow all Corporate and Department SOP's. View the work environment in a way to ensure the safety of our staff and competition guests. Completely know and follow company policies and procedures. Able to separate business and personal life (professional boundaries) Basic Requirements: EXPERT skiing skills with the ability to lift and ski with an excess of 50 lbs. EXPERT skiing ability on all terrain, all conditions, and all locations on the mountain. Must have the ability to work in an extreme high alpine winter environment (10,000'

13,000') for 8+ hours. Must be flexible with hours and days of work, including holidays. Basic computer skills with use of Word, Excel, etc. Must be at least 18 years old. Must have a valid US Driver's license Preferred Experience and Special Skills: Highschool education. Knowledge of "A" and "B" Net protection systems. Knowledge of constructing scaffolding, tents, and other event infrastructure. Knowledge of timing systems, communication lines, NASTAR, etc. Able to obtain an official's certification with one USSA or USASA (or equivalent) in Referee, Timing and Calculations, COC, COR, RA, judging, etc., along with Safe Sport. Department supports continued education. A Background in Alpine ski racing, big mountain free skiing, PSIA, HP, Freestyle, or Slopestyle. Due to our dynamic environment, candidates must be open-minded and ready to learn new skills. In addition, upon hiring, Race, Competition and Events Crew will begin to attend applicable training if required.
