Medical Office Assistant Fletcher
We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Medical Office Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a crucial part of our front office operations, ensuring the smooth flow of administrative tasks and patient interactions. This is an urgent need, and we are looking for a candidate who can hit the ground running. Key Responsibilities: Scheduling: Manage and maintain the physician's schedule, including new and follow-up appointments, procedures, and meetings.
Insurance Verification: Accurately verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to appointments.
Billing and Coding: Perform some insurance billing, including preparing and submitting claims to insurance companies. Review and process Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and follow up on denied claims. Assist with coding procedures and diagnoses to ensure proper claim submission.
Patient Checkout: Greet and assist patients during the checkout process. Collect co-payments, deductibles, and other payments. Schedule follow-up appointments and provide patients with necessary instructions.
General Administrative Duties: Answer and direct phone calls in a professional and courteous manner. Maintain patient records and ensure all documentation is accurate and up-to-date. Manage incoming and outgoing mail and faxes. Maintain a clean and organized reception area.
Qualifications: Experience:
A minimum of [Number] years of experience in a medical office setting is required.
Proven experience in medical insurance billing is essential.
Strong understanding of medical terminology, CPT and ICD-10 codes, and billing procedures.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
