Mt. Bachelor Events Crew Member

Bachelor's mission to deliver memorable experiences, enhance people's lives, and have fun doing it. From major competitions to on-hill parties or 'surprise and delight' activations, Events crew members are the spreaders of STOKE. They are required to work hard yet have fun setting up, executing, and tearing down events. This is a part-time / on-call position, primarily on the weekends (Friday-Sunday). Crew members must be available for all events and pre-event planning meetings throughout Mt. Bachelor's complete summer season, which typically runs from July to October. Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities Including but not limited to: Following detailed instructions from the Manager, Supervisor, and/or Lead, and execute accordingly. Assisting Event Supervisor with event set-up and tear-down. (fencing event perimeters, branding, tents, PA system, etc.) Follow the detailed instructions to execute accordingly. Adhering to Risk Management policies and guidelines and ensuring the safety of event set-up and atmosphere. Assist with Sponsor banner placement, resort branding, and other event-related signage. Assist with course set-up, maintenance, race timing, and results. Assist with competitor registration, awards ceremony set-up, and tear down. Follow Radio protocols and proficient communication. Providing a high level of customer service to all event competitors and participants. Secondary Function Assisting Bike Patrol, Trail Crew, and other Resort departments. Job Scope The job operates within the established parameters. Designated event date commitment required. Interpersonal Contacts Guests and other mountain departments. Specific Job Skills License/Certifications: Current and valid Driver's License preferred; you may be required to drive a Mt. Bachelor vehicle. Technical: Intermediate mountain biking ability. Must be comfortable loading, riding, and unloading a chair lift. Physical Capabilities: While performing the job duties, the employee is frequently required to walk, use hands to handle or feel, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and talk and hear. The employee is regularly required to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must competently and comfortably lift and/or move up to 50+ pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The ability to work long hours, outside in a harsh summer environment, is a must. Additional Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Work Environment: This is a mountain resort area. Work venues are varied, and in many cases include steep stairways, multi-level buildings, and outdoor work areas. Work venues are subject to a variety of weather conditions. Some facilities are located at the base area, and some are semi-remote and can only be reached by traveling via chairlift, mountain bike, or hiking. Walking surfaces are frequently sloped, loose, slippery, and/or dusty. Workdays and hours, as well as the number of hours required, will vary, with an emphasis on weekends and holidays. Education/Related Experience Minimum education required: High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum time in related position: Preferred 1 season of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Physical Demands The physical demands described here represent those that an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.
