Wastewater Operator
We are seeking a Wastewater Operator for assignment in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. The selected candidate will perform any combination of tasks pertinent to controlling operations of a wastewater treatment plant. Hours are Monday - Friday, 6:00am - 2:30pm. ** This position requires a New Mexico Level II Certification in Wastewater ** ** Candidates should be willing to work an on-call schedule as requested ** Responsibilities
- Operates pumps, engines, and generators to control and adjust flow and processing of influent, effluent and sludge - Monitors gauges, meters, and control panels - Observes variations in operating conditions and interprets meter and gauge readings - Operates valves and gates either manually or by remote control - Maintains shift log and records meter and gauge readings - Takes samples and performs laboratory tests and analyses - Performs routine maintenance functions and custodial duties - Ability and willingness to work on-call shifts, as requested, including being fit and able to respond to call-ins in a timely manner - Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED - A valid Driver's License - New Mexico Level II Certification in Wastewater - 2+ years experience operating wastewater treatment facilities
