Location: Barrington, Illinois (Hybrid) Assignment Type: 36 month contract position with the opportunity for long-term employment Compensation: $28.00 - $32.00 / Hourly depending on relevant experience Benefits: This position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k). Please contact us today to discuss this role! Job Responsibilities: Monitor and manage accounts receivable aging reports to ensure timely collections. Investigate, validate, and resolve customer deductions, chargebacks, and short payments (e.g., pricing discrepancies, freight claims, shortages, etc.). Partner with internal departments (sales, shipping, customer service, etc.) to reconcile disputed items and identify root causes for recurring deductions. Apply customer payments accurately and ensure proper matching of cash receipts and invoices. Communicate with customers to resolve outstanding balances and respond to inquiries in a professional and timely manner. Maintain detailed documentation of deduction resolutions and follow-up activity. Assist with month-end closing processes, including reconciliations and AR reporting. Identify trends in customer behavior or process inefficiencies and recommend improvements. Ensure compliance with company credit policies and internal controls. Support audits and provide requested documentation as needed. Qualifications: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. 2+ years of experience in accounts receivable, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment. Strong experience in deduction management and resolution. Proficient in Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables) and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, etc.).
