The Utah County Sheriff's Department is the law enforcement agency in the county and is responsible for the preservation of the peace. The Sheriff and deputies make arrests, oversees the courts and the County Correctional Facility, and prepare legal documents for Sheriff's sale. Posting Date: March 3, 2025 Closing Date: Open Until Filled All applications received by March 17, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. MST will be screened by the Human Resources Office. This position serves as an assistant to the County Fire Chief and Deputy Fire Chief. Starting Pay: Grade 725 Step A - $32.14
Step G - $36.96 Hourly Job Qualifications: Required Education and Experience: 1. High School diploma or equivalent. 2. Four (4) years of work experience in professional wildland fire suppression, including two (2) years as a squad leader or in another related supervisory position. Preferred Education and Experience: 1. Preference may be given to applicants who have successfully completed advanced training and requirements in wildland fire suppression tactics. 2. Preference may be given to applicants with Type 4 Incident Command certification under the NIIMS incident command system.
