Location: Chief Joseph Middle School 2025-2026 Salary Grade D: $18.20 - $19.67/hr. DOE or current placement on salary schedule. Benefits Available.

Description: This position is made up of two classified positions; Discretionary Para (7:45 - 12:00) Clerical (12:30 - 4:15) Includes 30 minutes lunch break and two 15 minute breaks. Totaling 8 hours per day.

The individual in this position will supervise In School Suspension (I.S.S.) and RESET, support academic needs, fulfill supervision responsibilities, manage records of all student discipline, and manage check-in and check-out of student chromebooks. The individual that fills this position will work as a support to the main office under general supervision and close direction of the assistant principal.

Persons in this position are distinguished by the variety of background experiences which allow for interaction with and general supervision of students, a sense of propriety, confidentiality, and good humor. The individual should have the ability to maintain compliance for rules, the ability to interpret and enforce school policies, and to maintain an appropriate level of discipline. The individual will also be expected to be alert to students and their needs, and to directly seek out ways in which to assist students with their work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):

Organized and well-ordered environment.

Maintains all records of RESET or I.S.S disciplinary actions in powerschool.

Supervises seatwork of RESET and/or I.S.S. situations on a routine and ongoing basis.

May assist teachers in monitoring student progress on specific assignments.

Will enforce and update an effective set of RESET and I.S.S. rules in conjunction with the principals, and will implement these rules with appropriate consistency and fairness.

Work with the building MTSS team to collect, track, and coordinate behavior, attendance, and academic data for use in decision-making processes.

Work with students on behavioral intervention activities in an effort to reduce or extinguish unacceptable behaviors at school.

Assists Assistant Principal Secretary as a primary communication and recording link in contacts with parents, students, teachers, counselors, administrators and juvenile probation authorities in matters pertaining to discipline.

Enters behavior infractions and discipline data into Powerschool.

Executes all certified letters on suspensions and drops for non-attendance and notifies all affected of consequences for attendance violations.

Notifies parents, teachers and counselors of discipline decisions.

Manage school chromebook check-in and check-out process.

May be called upon to assist with phone calls as assigned.

Performs other such duties as are assigned by the Principal(s) or their designee.

Treats all matters of school business in a confidential manner.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED plus two years post-secondary education. Previous experience working with middle school age students, preferred.
