Job Title: Senior Network Engineer Location: Remote - Preference for candidates near Elk Grove Village area Illinois, South Bend area Indiana, or Greater Indianapolis Indiana (not required) Salary Range: $140,000 Introduction We're seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join a high-performing Infrastructure team at a growing technology organization undergoing multiple acquisitions. This is an opportunity to work with cutting-edge network and systems technologies in a dynamic and collaborative environment. Ideal candidates have a passion for learning, a proactive mindset, and a deep technical foundation across networking, security, and systems. Required Skills & Qualifications
Minimum 6 years of experience in network engineering Advanced experience with Palo Alto Firewalls and Panorama administration VLAN subnet design and implementation Experience with OSPF and BGP routing protocols Proficiency in VPN technologies, including IPSec Strong experience with both Windows Server and Linux operating systems Scripting proficiency in at least one language (Bash, PowerShell, Perl, or Python) Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship Ability to participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation (every 4-7 weeks) Preferred Skills & Qualifications
Experience with Juniper, Cisco, or HPE Aruba switches (Juniper preferred) Experience with enterprise wireless and NAC solutions Familiarity with authentication technologies such as LDAP, Active Directory, and RADIUS Exposure to AWS or Azure cloud environments Experience with configuration management platforms (e.g., Ansible, Chef) Experience with Disaster Recovery planning and monitoring tools Relevant certifications: PCNSA, PCNSE, JNCIA, JNCIS, JNCIP, JNCIE, CCSP, ITIL, or others Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Evaluate, test, develop, and implement technical solutions that drive business value Support and maintain infrastructure: switches, routers, load balancers, firewalls, compute, storage, and virtualization assets Lead lifecycle management, upgrades, capacity planning, and major incident response Coordinate closely with Engineering, Security, Architecture, and Support teams Maintain uptime, performance, and operational integrity of systems and networks Lead or support appliance/software upgrades and preventative maintenance Document procedures, develop engineering drawings, and manage configurations Solve problems independently and proactively propose solutions Demonstrate leadership and influence across technical and business stakeholders Company Benefits & Culture
