Brief Overview
The Receiving/Scale Operator works on a small team that receives inbound loads through a process of weighing, sampling, grading, documenting, and unloading. Headquartered in Volga, SD, SDSP maintains a collaborative team environment where each employee's contribution and strong work ethic is valued. Primary Responsibilities Greet customers in a friendly, professional manner while directing the flow of incoming/outgoing traffic. Perform all duties required to properly weigh incoming/outgoing trucks, including operating hydraulic probe, reading and recording data manually and electronically utilizing a computer system and industry specific software. Accurately complete all documents required for marketing and accounting departments. Perform the necessary safety checks to maintain the scale/receiving equipment is in safe and efficient operating condition. Maintain sanitary standards throughout the receiving bay, probe shack, library, and the grounds around receiving. Conduct a weekly walk-thru of all receiving conveyance equipment on top of bins. Rotate every other month in assisting with Month End Inventory. (This also includes the meal silos.) Communicate any problems that may occur and participate in problem solving. Comply with SDSP's Safe Quality Food (SQF) food safety program and polices. Perform duties outside normal responsibilities to support the team and overall organizational goals. Be available to work a flexing schedule that accommodates the changing business need, including an extended harvest schedule. Be a good steward of company resources.
Basic Qualifications Strong verbal and written communication skills Basic math skills Basic computer skills include entering data into a spreadsheet and utilizing email. Perform duties outside normal responsibilities as needed to support the team and overall organizational goals. Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work well with others.

: Bend •Squat •Climb Ladders and Stairs Kneel •Stand •Walk Handle Objects •Reach Above Shoulder Level •Push/Pull Carry/Lift 25 - 50 lbs.
Must Possess the Ability to Do the Following Occasionally: Sit Crawl Use Fine Finger Movements Carry/Lift Over 50 lbs.
Working Conditions Work on & around high structures & confined spaces Work around moving machinery Drive mobile equipment Occasionally exposed to fumes, dust, and excessive noise May be exposed to marked changes in temperature
