This role is primarily focused on inverter systems, leading troubleshooting efforts, coordinating with vendors, analyzing performance, and supporting the commissioning and turnover of new PV and BESS projects.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as technical support for field teams, addressing inverter faults, performance issues, and balance-of-plant components.
- Lead Root Cause Analysis for recurring faults, collaborate with OEMs on resolutions, and manage firmware and warranty escalations.
- Monitor SCADA and PI Vision trends, interpret alarms and logs, and implement targeted operational improvements.
- Support preventive and corrective maintenance planning with clear inverter task definitions and execution protocols.
- Contribute to engineering documentation, troubleshooting guides, training materials, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide remote technical assistance during urgent site events and help train new engineers and technicians.
About You:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
- 3-6 years of experience in PV or BESS operations, with hands-on experience resolving inverter issues, and commissioning or field engineering.
- Strong understanding of grid-tied inverter technologies, failure modes, and troubleshooting methodologies.
- Familiarity with vendors like Sungrow, Power Electronics, and SMA.
- Experience interpreting SCADA/PI data and alarm systems for operational diagnostics.
- Proven communication skills with the ability to work independently and across remote, cross-functional teams.
- Willingness to support field operations and commissioning activities.
- Working knowledge of cybersecurity, NERC compliance, or interconnection requirements.

- Base Pay: $90,000 -$115,000 (based on experience, education, and skillset)
- 10% Annual Performance Bonus based on individual performance and company metrics.
