Summary About the Position: You will support real estate specialists and appraisers in the course of their duties. Responsibilities Prepare documents for real estate related civil works and military projects, memorandums, etc. Prepare cost estimates, billings and collections and reports; detailed project reports, systems reports Research courthouse records for ownership verification Update programs and databases such as a Financial Management System, Rental Facilities Management Information System, and Real Estate Management Information System. Create and amend Purchase Request and Commitments (PRandC) in a financial management system At the GS-05 and 06 grade levels, the duties are developmental in nature leading to the full performance level of GS-1101-07. The duties are described at the GS-07 level. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. GS-07 QUALIFICATIONS Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes working in a real estate environment and preparing real estate documents. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06 or above]). GS-06 QUALIFICATIONS Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes utilizing the MS Office Suite to prepare forms, correspondence, memorandums and reports following guides and regulations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05 or above]). GS-05 QUALIFICATIONS Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes answering and directing phone calls and scheduling appointments. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04). OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and Management Information Management Real Estate Technology Application Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants to the GS-06 and GS-07 levels who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05 or GS-06). There is no time in grade requirement for applicants to the GS-05 level. Education GS-05 ONLY: FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university. GS-06/07: Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. At the GS-06 and GS-07 levels, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Permanent Change of Station (PCS) allowances ARE NOT AUTHORIZED. If selected at the GS-05 or GS-06 level, this position has promotion potential to the GS-07. Career ladder promotions are not guaranteed. An employee can only be promoted when he/she demonstrates ability to work at a higher level, and when the promotion is in line with the agency's authorized ceiling and staffing policies.
