Overview:
Westchester Jewish Community Services (WJCS) is a leading nonprofit organization serving individuals and families throughout Westchester County. Founded in 1943, WJCS provides a vast range of supportive community services each year to 20,000 people of all ages and backgrounds.
We are currently seeking two full-time Coordinators for our Yonkers and White Plains based Margaret’s Place programs. The salary range is $52,000-65,000.
Margaret’s Place, a program in partnership with Joe Torre Safe At Home, supports young people affected by interpersonal relationship abuse and trauma by providing a safe place in schools where students meet with a professional counselor or social worker trained in violence intervention and prevention. Our s ervices include individual and group counselling, healthy relationship education, classroom-based curricula, peer leadership development, and training for school staff and parents.
Responsibilities:
As a valued member of our team, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Providing individual and group counseling to students.
Facilitating peer leadership programming and classroom-based curricula.
Offering workshops and trainings to faculty, students, and parents.
Delivering both in-person and virtual violence prevention and intervention services.
Building and maintaining relationships with school administrators, teachers, parents and community members.
Maintaining accurate case records and program evaluation data.
Requirements:
We are seeking candidates who possess the following qualifications:
MSW or related professional field; licensure expected within one year of hire.
Demonstrated experience working with youth, adults and families.
Clinical experience with interpersonal violence, trauma-informed care and prevention.
Strong relationship-building skills.
Excellent organizational skills and initiative
Thorough knowledge of social work/counseling principles and youth development.
Proficiency in computer skills and strong oral and written skills in English.
Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
