JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE We are seeking a skilled and motivated CNC Machinist/Programmer with a strong background in both manual and CNC Machining. The ideal candidate will have experience in programming, setup, and operation of 3-axis CNC machines, as well as proficiency in manual machining processes and surface grinding. KEY COLLABORATORS: Manufacturing Technicians Precision Grind OperatorsCNC OperatorsManufacturing Leads Quality Control team members Production Planner Manufacturing Director KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Program and operate 3-axis CNC machines using Mastercam or Fusion 360 software.Operate manual vertical mills and surface grinding machines with a high degree of precision.Interpret and work from 2D and 3D blueprintsApply strong knowledge of cutting tools and materials to optimize machining performance and tool life.Edit and modify G-code for improved efficiency and accuracy during machining operations.Utilize Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) to ensure part accuracy and quality standards.Stay current with the latest machining practices, techniques, and technologies to maintain high-quality output.Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for consistent and safe machine operations.Provide training and mentorship to other team members as needed.Estimate time and resources required for machining projects and assist with planning and scheduling.QualificationsProven proficiency in Mastercam or Fusion 360 for 3-axis CNC programming.Hands-on experience with manual vertical milling and surface grinding.Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint reading.Ability to edit G-code directly and make necessary adjustments.Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.Excellent problem-solving abilities and mechanical aptitude.Effective communication skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.Quality:Experience with quality management systems and compliance standards. Perform regular inspections of products and processes, ensuring all work meets established standards. While promptly identifying and addressing any defects or deviations. RequirementsEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Education:Highschool diploma or GED preferred.Certification in MastercamAssociate in science of Machining & Technology or Certificate in Achievement of Machining & Technology or equivalent Experience:10+ years of CNC experienceStrong understanding of manufacturing processes and quality assurance methodologies. Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to lead a diverse team. Work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating initiative and a self-starting attitude. Reliability - Demonstrates a high level of dependability in all aspects of the job.Physical Demands | Work Environment | Tools Work Location: 100% onsite Work Schedule: 40 hours / week Monday - FridayPhysical Conditions of Employment:Lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.Tools Utilized:Calipers, micrometers, hand files, microscopes/loupe, gauge blocks, dial indicator, edge finders, protractor, belt grinder, deburring/polishing wheels, oxy-acetylene torch & spot welder/MIG welder.Environmental Conditions of employment:The position will perform most of the work in the Shop area Exposure to loud noises, dust, oils, and solvents. Salary Description $35 - $45/hr
