Summary
Under the direction of the electrical foreman or the coordinator, the electrician specialist maintains and repairs electrical equipment and systems; and plans and completes the electrical portion of remodeling and construction projects.

8 hours per day/257 days per year/Salary Grade 12 $26.30 per hour (2025 - 2026 Support Salary Table)
(Promotions result in a 5% minimum increase)
Compensation ranges between $24.36 - $36.51 per hour. Placement is typically made at the entry level. Employment includes a generous benefit package including paid holidays, paid vacation, sick leave, participation in the Utah State Retirement System, and insurance options.
This position may be underfilled as an apprentice.
GENERAL FUNCTION: Under the direction of the electrical foreman or the coordinator, the electrician specialist maintains and repairs electrical equipment and systems; and plans and completes the electrical portion of remodeling and construction projects.
Knowledge & Ability:
1. Ability to install conduit and raceway systems.
2. Experience troubleshooting and servicing motor control centers, mag-starters and relays.
3. Experience with various types of lighting systems, occupancy sensors and lighting controls.
4. Experience with air handling equipment, pumps, motors and variable frequency drives.
5. Experience servicing and troubleshooting engine driven generators and transfer switches.
6. Experience servicing, maintaining and installing transformer and distribution systems.
7. Experience identifying and correcting power quality problems in an industrial environment.
8. Ability to plan and organize electrical installation or remodel projects.
9. Strong knowledge of applicable codes and industry standards.
10. Ability to read, write and perform basic mathematical functions.
11. Ability to effectively use computer software such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
12. Experience maintaining and repairing electrical generators.

1. Experience working in a facility maintenance or electrical service environment.
2. Preference given to those with current journeyman, master or apprenticeship status.
