nThe Raytheon Mechanical Engineering (ME) Organization leads the mechanical hardware design, development and production of missiles, radar, sonar, torpedo, and combat system equipment. The ME Team uses state-of-the-art tools, processes, technology, and Raytheon's Six Sigma principles. ME's capabilities encompass a broad range of technical disciplines which include engineering, manufacturing, technical services, materials, processes, analysis, test, and documentation.
nThe Air Defense Ground Equipment (ADGE) Department leads mechanical design, development, and integration of platform systems. This includes missile hardware, shelter systems, hardware integration, cable & interconnections, as well as facility development, and site integration. The department is comprised of individuals with technical expertise and experience in hardware design, integration, and production support.
nThe ADGE department is looking for a full-time Senior Mechanical Engineer, to support Patriot Missile GEM-T major components and sub-assemblies, including obsolescence upgrades, procurement and supplier support located in Andover, MA. (Onsite)
nAs a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will design, develop, and support sustainment of rugged military electronics, participate as a senior member of mechanical or cross functional team, transition product to production and provide sustainment support to operations and supply chain. You will be expected to be a creative problem solver, applying your knowledge and experience to develop hardware and to identify/resolve design and manufacturing challenges.
nWhat You Will Do
nDesign/Development:
nExperienced in Electronics Packaging, design and development of Electronic Systems, sub-Systems, Modules, Circuit Card Assemblies, Printed Wiring Boards, and interconnect. Supporting RF, Digital, Power and mixed technology products.
nSustainment support of released products, including: the identification, review, assessment, and resolution of issues encountered throughout a product's life cycle
nTeaming/Communication:
nInterface with other engineering disciplines, non-technical disciplines, and suppliers to develop design solutions and resolve technical challenges.
nWork with limited supervision and meet commitments for assigned schedule, financial, and technical goals.
nSupport and participate in design peer reviews, resolving action items, and conduct trade studies to make sound technical decisions.
nMentor and guide less experienced engineers.
nQualifications You Must Have
nTypically requires a Bachelor's degree and 5 years of prior relevant experience OR an Advanced degree in a related field and a minimum of 3 years' experience.
nA minimum of 2 years' experience designing and/or developing mechanical equipment, preferably for use in Military environments.
nExperience in design and/or production support.
nExperience with 3D CAD design tools and/or related product data management tools.
nThe ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
nQualifications We Prefer
nWorking knowledge of Military and Commercial Specifications
nExperience in design, fabrication, and integration of electronic assemblies, shelter assemblies, power distribution equipment packaging, and rack system.
nDevelopment of engineering drawings/documentation in accordance with corporate standards, including dimensioning, GD&T, and material/process definition.
nExperience using CREO CAD design and documentation tools.
nExperience with PDM or similar product data management tool

nThe salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
