Software Development Engineer II, Demand Science Optimization

Join the Demand Science Optimization (DSO) team, where we leverage Machine Learning (ML) and big data to forecast demand and manage the supply of Amazon's diverse devices. Our innovative team operates with a startup mentality, evolving our core platforms while proving new business ideas. As a Software Development Engineer (SDE), you will: Design and develop robust systems capable of processing vast amounts of data and training numerous models. Work autonomously on projects with team and cross-team scope, driving designs for components and services that introduce new features. Prepare estimates for deliverables, document proposed solutions, and conduct thorough code reviews. Write high-quality, optimized code and perform root cause analysis on operational issues. Communicate project updates with leadership and team members effectively. Participate in on-call support approximately every 4-5 weeks. Our team focuses on the intersection of supply chain software, machine learning, and economic modeling to enhance inventory management. Your contributions will guide strategic decisions impacting our expansive product lineup, which includes popular devices like Alexa, Kindle, Ring, and more. Qualifications: Basic Requirements: 3+ years of professional software development experience. 2+ years of experience in designing or architecting systems. Proficiency in at least one programming language. Preferred Qualifications: 3+ years of experience in the full software development lifecycle including coding standards, code reviews, and testing. Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
