Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) In this role, you have the opportunity to Support information system life cycle activities from rapidly establishing systems to support classified proposals, to scoping systems for new programs and preparing Risk Management Framework packages, regular maintenance, support and upgrades of systems during program execution, to program close-out and de-certification activities. Worksite location option: Onsite: Torrance or Cypress, CA (must live within a 30-40 minute commute of facility) Hybrid: Supporting both Torrance and Cypress on a business needs basis 100% WFH: Not an option due to responsibilities Primary Responsibilities: Establishes, documents, implements. and monitors the Information System (IS) Security Program, System Security Plans (SSP) and related procedures for the facility. Authors and maintains documentation supporting the Assessment & Authorization (A&A) of assigned systems in accordance with the Risk Management Framework (RMF). Performs security control assessments as part of the Continuous Monitoring Plan. Oversees configuration management of assigned systems and validates audits are performed to ensure the security posture integrity. Conducts periodic hardware and software inventory assessments. Identifies system security control shortcomings and serves as lead for remediating deficiencies. Investigates security incidents such as data spills, data integrity and malicious events. This position may require some overnight travel. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and 5 years of prior relevant experience OR Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience OR In absence of a degree, relevant experience is required Must be a U.S. Citizen Must have a US Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain Top Secret clearance. Must have Security+ or obtain certification within 6 months of hire. Preferred Qualifications: The technical knowledge that will assist in rulings, approvals, interpretations, and acceptable deviations from regulations for IS compliance with various government agencies & regulations (RMF, STIGs - ICD 503, associated NIST publications) for a variety of Operating Systems and components. Ensuring compliance with Risk Management Framework (RMF) policies, concepts, and measures for currently accredited and new Information Systems. Evaluate potential IA security risks through Continuous Monitoring Ensuring configuration management (CM) for IS software, hardware and firmware is maintained and documented. Perform antivirus updates, SW patch installation, and conduct security self-reviews Working knowledge of the eMASS application High level of personal motivation and initiative to learn and acquire new skills and adapt seamlessly to an ever-changing security environment. Possess good written, verbal, listening, and presentation skills Ability to work in a team as well as independently. Ability to handle multiple tasks and manage the time accordingly.
