Position Summary:

The Director, Project Management Office (PMO) leads the development and execution of strategic project initiatives across the organization. This role is responsible for establishing project governance, optimizing resource allocation, and ensuring alignment between project execution and business objectives. As a key strategic partner, this leader promotes a culture of accountability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement, while delivering measurable impact across clinical, operational, and administrative teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and manage a standardized PMO framework, including tools, methodologies, and best practices to ensure consistent, high-quality project execution.

Oversee the enterprise project portfolio to prioritize initiatives based on strategic alignment, available resources, clinical impact, and ROI.

Lead all practice integration efforts, ensuring seamless transitions and alignment across departments, systems, and providers.

Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of project managers, program managers, and coordinators, fostering accountability and professional growth.

Provide structured project governance, including scope management/control, risk mitigation, change management, and clear communication with all stakeholders.

Collaborate with executive leadership, clinical, and operational teams to identify project opportunities, build business cases, and secure executive sponsorship.

Establish transparent reporting mechanisms, including dashboards, KPIs, and executive summaries to monitor project health and organizational impact.

Implement scalable practices for project scoping, resource planning, scheduling, and budget management.

Promote a culture of continuous improvement through post-project reviews, knowledge sharing, and process optimization.

Ensure all initiatives are aligned with organizational strategy, operational priorities, and IT infrastructure.

Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and third-party project resources to ensure timely, cost-effective delivery.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Project Management, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

7–10+ years of progressive experience in project management, with at least 3–5 years leading a PMO or enterprise program management function.

Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (or equivalent such as PgMP, Lean Six Sigma) strongly .

Proven success leading complex, cross-functional initiatives within a healthcare or similarly regulated environment.

Deep knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid) and their practical application in diverse operational settings.

Demonstrated leadership and team development skills with a focus on mentorship, collaboration, and outcomes.

Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.

Strong analytical thinking, strategic planning, and organizational skills; able to balance detail with big-picture priorities.

Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA), Healthcare Administration (MHA), or a related advanced degree.

Prior experience in a healthcare delivery system, hospital operations, ambulatory care, or similarly complex, regulated environment.

Proficiency with project portfolio management and collaboration tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, Monday.com, Asana), with a focus on executive-level reporting and visibility.
