AWS Managed Services (AMS) is looking for a passionate and experienced Senior Security Engineer to join our dynamic and innovative global Security team. In this role, you will thrive in fast-paced environments, adopting both attacker and defender mindsets to effectively address and mitigate risks. Your expertise will contribute to hands-on security development, incident management, and collaborative efforts to enhance the security posture for Amazon and its customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Incident Response and Threat Management:
Investigate and respond to security incidents in a timely manner, deploying security measures to prevent future occurrences. Cross-Team Collaboration:
Work effectively with AWS teams to ensure the security of AMS services and maintain comprehensive security documentation. Continuous Improvement:
Stay current with emerging security trends and technologies, proposing innovative enhancements to AMS security processes. Mentorship:
Guide junior security team members, promoting a culture of security awareness across the organization. Stakeholder Management:
Communicate security risks and strategies to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and prepare regular security status reports. A Day in the Life: You will monitor networks and systems, perform triage on security alerts, and document suspicious activities. Your collaboration with team members will be key as you leverage AWS technologies to detect and respond to cybersecurity threats that impact our customers. About You: The ideal candidate possesses a strong security background, demonstrating initiative in identifying vulnerabilities and making informed architectural decisions. A mix of deep technical acumen and practical information security experience is essential. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field; or equivalent experience. 7+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience with a track record of managing complex security incidents. Exceptional communication skills to articulate technical concepts to executive audiences. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Security Operations or in a Security Operations Center (SOC). Proficiency with AWS security technologies and understanding of various compliance frameworks. Industry-recognized security certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or CISM.
