As a Lead Security Engineer, you will play a crucial role in protecting the security posture of AMS, working hands-on to enhance our systems and respond to potential threats. You will have the chance to mentor junior engineers and lead initiatives that drive security best practices across various teams. Your core responsibilities will include: Incident Response and Threat Management:

Respond effectively to security incidents, deploying guardrails to prevent future issues, and analyzing trends in emerging threats. Cross-Team Collaboration and Service Security:

Collaborate with different AWS teams to ensure a collective security effort while maintaining thorough documentation of security procedures. Continuous Improvement and Innovation:

Stay updated on security technologies and propose innovative solutions to enhance AMS’s security measures. Stakeholder Management and Reporting:

Communicate risks and mitigation strategies effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, preparing regular reports on security status. A day in the life: You will monitor networks and systems for potential threats, perform triage for security alerts, and document suspicious activity. You’ll collaborate with security engineers and partner teams to enhance threat detection and incident response capabilities, utilizing AWS technologies to mitigate cyber threats. Why join us? Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or equivalent field; or 7+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience. Exceptional communication skills for articulating technical concepts. Proven ability to build and lead high-performing security response teams. Strong problem-solving abilities in ambiguous situations. Preferred Qualifications: Experience leading Security Operations, especially within a Security Operations Center (SOC). Proficiency with AWS security tools like VPC Flow Logs, CloudTrail, and Amazon GuardDuty. Knowledge in compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO, HIPAA, FedRAMP).
