Cloud Architect Permanent role Responsibilities: Lead the architectural design and implementation of secure and scalable hybrid cloud solutions for our clients, with a specific focus on Singapore Government entities leveraging commercial cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP, Alibaba). Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the Singapore Government's cloud adoption policies, security guidelines (e.g., IM8), and compliance requirements. Architect and implement robust cloud security controls, including identity and access management, data protection, network security, vulnerability management, and security monitoring. Design hybrid cloud architectures that seamlessly integrate on-premises infrastructure with public cloud services, ensuring interoperability, performance, and cost-effectiveness. Provide expert guidance on cloud security best practices, ensuring solutions adhere to industry standards and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with sales and business development teams to define technical solutions, contribute to proposals, and present to clients, including Singapore Government stakeholders. Lead technical discussions and workshops with clients to understand their requirements and articulate proposed solutions. Develop comprehensive architecture blueprints, design documents, and implementation guides. Evaluate and recommend cloud technologies and services that align with client needs and security requirements. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other architects and engineering teams. Oversee the implementation and deployment of cloud solutions, ensuring adherence to architectural standards and best practices. Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide expert support during implementation and operations. Stay abreast of the latest cloud technologies, security trends, and regulatory changes relevant to the Singapore Government and the broader cloud landscape. Contribute to the development of cloud adoption frameworks, security policies, and best practices within the organization. Participate in industry events and contribute to thought leadership initiatives. Lead research initiatives to explore emerging cloud technologies and trends, ensuring the organization stays ahead in the cloud landscape. Drive innovation by proposing and implementing cutting-edge solutions that enhance cloud infrastructure and services. Develop and implement disaster recovery plans and business continuity strategies for cloud environments. Ensure robust backup and recovery mechanisms are in place to protect critical data and applications. Monitor and manage cloud spending, identifying opportunities for cost optimization. Implement strategies to maximize the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of cloud resources. Establish performance monitoring frameworks to ensure optimal operation of cloud services. Continuously analyze and optimize cloud performance to meet evolving business needs Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Minimum of 10-12 years of experience in IT infrastructure and at least 5-7 years of experience in architecting and implementing cloud solutions. Significant and demonstrable experience working with Singapore Government entities on their adoption of commercial cloud platforms. Deep expertise in cloud security principles, practices, and technologies, including identity management, encryption, network security, and compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2, IM8). Strong hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS), platform-as-a-service (PaaS), and software-as-a-service (SaaS) offerings. Proven ability to design and implement hybrid cloud architectures that integrate on-premises environments with public cloud services. Excellent understanding of networking concepts, including VPNs, firewalls, load balancers, and network segmentation in cloud environments. Experience with security tools and technologies relevant to cloud environments (e.g., SIEM, vulnerability scanners, intrusion detection/prevention systems). Strong understanding of DevOps principles and practices, including automation and infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM templates). Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
