We're seeking a bright, energetic, and highly motivated Mid-Level Project Manager to join our team as a consultant. In this role, you'll be instrumental in planning and executing diverse IT projects (applications and infrastructure-related). Duration: 6+ month W2 contract Location: Irvine, CA, HYBRID 3 days/week onsite Compensation: $70 - $80/hr, higher depending on relevant experience Responsibilities: Assist in the development and execution of project plans and budgets for IT initiatives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and subject matter experts, to support project delivery within defined scope, schedule, and budget. Monitor and track project progress, dependencies, risks, issues, and action items, escalating potential roadblocks to senior management as needed. Support the creation and communication of project status reports to various stakeholders, including regular updates to upper management. Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation within the PMO departmental repository and ServiceNow. Adhere to PMO-defined processes, methodologies, and required documentation, working with stakeholders to complete SDLC deliverables (e.g., Charter, BRD, Test Plan, UAT). Assist in managing project budgets, resourcing, and utilization, tracking team hours and budget weekly. Proactively identify potential issues, analyze their impact, and propose solutions or backup plans before escalating to leadership. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 8-15 years of progressive experience managing IT projects; experience working in larger, enterprise-scale organizations is needed Proven ability to run complex projects with significant budgets and manage cross-functional teams within tight deadlines. Experience working in Waterfall environments is essential; Agile experience is not required. Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and project management tools such as MS Project. Familiarity with Change Request processes. Ability to work independently while also being a collaborative team player, interacting effectively with project team members, external vendors, and consultants. Soft Skills: Exceptional Communication: Concise, succinct, and clear in both written and verbal communication, with the ability to present effectively to various levels, including C-level executives. Proactive Problem-Solver: Takes initiative to identify and analyze issues, proposing solutions or mitigation strategies before escalating. Highly Versatile: Adaptable and capable of working on diverse project types (e.g., cloud, infrastructure, migration, software upgrades, automation, IoT, HR, Finance applications, supply chain).
