Position Summary: We are looking for a seasoned AWS Cloud Engineer to lead the design, deployment, and optimization of a cloud-based platform managing large-scale energy storage operations. The role involves both architecture definition and hands-on implementation of a secure, scalable, and robust cloud environment. Main Responsibilities: Architect and deploy a scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS to support an advanced Energy Management System (EMS). Oversee the migration of legacy services from an on-premise environment to the AWS cloud. Optimize and refactor existing components, replacing manual or custom elements (e.g. EC2 instances, Celery tasks) with managed AWS services. Design secure data pipelines and implement real-time communication with external optimization engines (e.g. CPLEX, GAMS) and industrial systems. Establish and maintain secure interfaces with field equipment (via MQTT) and energy market systems (e.g. DNP3). Ensure compliance with corporate security frameworks, conduct regular audits, and validate data architecture. Work collaboratively with software engineers, system integrators, and external vendors throughout the project lifecycle. Required Qualifications: Degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field. 10+ years of professional experience with AWS cloud services and infrastructure. Hands-on expertise with key AWS services (e.g. EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM, VPC). Experience leading cloud migration and re-architecture projects. Proficiency in Python and scripting for automation or infrastructure management. Solid understanding of cloud-native design patterns and data workflows. Knowledge of security best practices and cloud compliance requirements. Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset. Excellent communication and coordination skills. Nice to Have: Experience in the energy, utilities, or industrial IoT sectors. Familiarity with optimization libraries such as CPLEX or GAMS. AWS certifications (e.g. Solutions Architect Associate or Professional). Exposure to industrial communication protocols like DNP3 and MQTT.
