Since 2003, Xentity has provided high-tech and science transformation consulting services to the U.S. Government. As a consultant, you'll work with Earth Agencies -organizations involved in air, land, water, energy, remote sensing, mapping, and related scientific studies. Your solutions will shape key end services, products, and internal processes, leaving a lasting impact on mission-critical programs. Key Responsibilities: Lead solution design and architecture development, including logical data models, mission system architectures, and physical server/component models. Conduct research and technical evaluations to support modernization, austerity, or consolidation efforts. Provide recommendations and alternatives to adapt to changing client needs and technological advancements. Develop architecture principles, patterns, and transition plans for data, applications, security, and technology. Perform technical and business analysis using methods like modeling, simulations, and process re-engineering. Evaluate existing portfolios, business requirements, and security needs to provide alternative solutions and technology evaluations. Work with software development teams to assure proper integration of architecture design into sprint cycles. Stay current on emerging architecture patterns (e.g., ROA, Big Data), software frameworks, cloud providers, and other innovations. Lead the application of transformation frameworks (e.g., FSAM, MBT, TOGAF, DODAF) and industry best practices. Expectations: Serve as a change agent , presenting and advocating for architectural solutions to a variety of stakeholders-technical teams, executives, and end-users. Foster collaboration within mixed team environments (company, subcontractor, client). Demonstrate leadership by guiding teams, influencing decisions, and helping shape strategic direction. Stay ahead of industry trends and apply new delivery models to client solutions. Collaborate with our Chief Architect and Architecture Lead , both seasoned federal change agents, to mentor and shape successful project outcomes. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree (Master's in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a relevant subject preferred). At least 7 years of architecture experience supporting scientific programs, particularly in Earth sciences (e.g., marine, atmospheric, hydrological, geological, renewable energy). Familiarity with Natural Resource Management and the Federal Government's environmental and science programs (e.g., NEPA ). Strong understanding of civilian government programs and related technology, software, and data roles in both private and public sectors. Proven expertise in solution architecture , data engineering , and lifecycle transformation for areas such as eServices , MIS , remote sensing , IT infrastructure , and Big Data . Must be able to rapidly context-switch across topics and tailor communications for diverse stakeholders. Excellent proficiency in tools like PowerPoint , Visio , ESRI , GeoServer , and metadata standards . Ability to travel 10-30% within the U.S., with occasional travel to Alaska , Hawaii , or international locations. Ability to pass NACI , background checks, and drug tests. Strong typing skills and experience with fast visual prototyping . Remote work. Preferred Skills: Experience with ITIL , ITSM , COBIT , and other framework methodologies. Knowledge of Big Data , RDF , and SEO technologies. Familiarity with government market rates and compensation structures. Why Xentity?
