Position Summary Business Justification Hadoop Application Support specialist able to work in one or more applications in the Hadoop data lake. Able to support existing Hadoop applications and work in rotating shifts (24x7). Responsibilities Support multiple projects with competing deadlines Monitor production applications 24/7 to meet SLAs Triage and remediate job failures Coordinate with upstream/downstream applications for data issues Generate and submit reports to senior management Understand and explore Hadoop ecosystem tools (Cloudera) and apply them appropriately Work with Big Data in production environments Work with HDFS, MapReduce, Hive, Impala, Spark, Kafka, Linux/Unix Analyze and debug shell scripts, Python, Perl code Knowledge of SQL and large SQL systems Handle large data volumes and architect big data environments Optimize algorithms and software performance Skills and Qualifications Primary: Hadoop Secondary: Core Java Tertiary: Kafka Bachelor's in technical or related field or equivalent experience 7+ years in data warehousing, 4+ years in big data (Cloudera) Experience with distributed systems and client-service models Ability to understand complex solutions and technologies Teamwork and presentation skills Preferred Qualifications Experience in financial services and production support Knowledge of testing/operational processes Understanding of industry trends and BI solutions Additional Details Seniority level: Mid-Senior level Employment type: Full-time Industry: Software Development This job is active and accepting applications. #J-18808-Ljbffr
