Intern, Control Center Operations Support

Work Place Flexibility: Onsite Legal Entity: Entergy Operations, Inc.-EOI Job Summary/Purpose: The intern, control center operation support provides operational tool and engineering expertise for the power delivery control centers. The primary responsibility of this role is to assist the team with planning, design, development, testing, and operation of applications that support real-time operations of Entergy's bulk-electric system. Frequent interaction with all power delivery control centers, planning, IT, and learning & development operations partners is expected. Job Duties/Responsibilities: Support real time control center operations tools and applications Provide project support for control center work management tools and systems Enhance existing and/or prototype new solutions for emerging operational needs Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and operate in a highly visible and rapidly changing work environment Minimum Requirements: Minimum Education: Pursuing bachelor's degree in engineering discipline (typically electrical, computer, mechanical, civil, chemical, and industrial) from a four-year accredited institution Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to recognize opportunities for process improvement and have the ability to enact change Preferred: Programming language experience (C++, Java, .Net, Python, Perl or similar) Demonstrate advanced knowledge of Power BI (or similar analytics toolset) Knowledge of SQL (structured query language) is desired Primary Location: Mississippi-Jackson Mississippi : Jackson Job Function: Students / Early Careers FLSA Status: Nonexempt Relocation Option: Level III Union description/code: NON BARGAINING UNIT Number of Openings: 1 Travel Percentage: Up to 25% An Equal Opportunity Employer, Minority/Female/Disability/Vets.
