Orthopedics & Sports Medicine Gastroenterology OB/GYN Women's Primary Care Rheumatology Neurology Children's MB2 Pulmonary Family Medicine Acute Care Nephrology Cardiovascular Institute Job Summary We are seeking a caring and responsible Medical Assistant (MA/CMA) to assist with patient care across all ages in our ambulatory setting. You will play a vital role as a patient advocate, collaborating closely with patients and their care teams to ensure comfort throughout their healthcare journey at Sanford. Expect to build strong relationships with both patients and co-workers while accessing numerous growth opportunities. Responsibilities As a Medical Assistant, your duties will include:
Collecting health status data from patients or caregivers and communicating findings to healthcare providers. Implementing and following up on patient care plans under provider direction. Translating provider instructions for care to patients and caregivers. Participating in patient care across all stages of preventative care, health maintenance, treatment, and follow-up. Taking vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, and performing point of care testing. Qualifications To qualify for this position, you must:
Be a graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant program. Have prior experience in a healthcare setting (preferred). Be nationally certified or registered as a Medical Assistant (MA). Possess Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within six months of employment. If working in North Dakota, you will need to register as an MAIII within four months of hire. Registration for MAs working in Minnesota, Iowa, South Dakota, and Oregon is not required.
