Overview NeuroPsychiatric Hospitals is seeking a Facility Chief Executive Officer for our Crown Point, IN location. NPH is a national leader in providing medical and neurobehavioral care to patients in acute psychiatric distress. You will join a team of dedicated staff who deliver exceptional, patient-centered care, prioritizing our patients above all. The Board of Directors, along with the President and COO, will appoint a CEO responsible for the overall management and operation of the hospital(s). This includes planning, financial management, quality improvement, human resources, and daily operations. The CEO will have the authority to execute these responsibilities within the policies set by the board or delegated committees. The CEO acts as the authorized representative of the board in all matters unless otherwise designated. The role involves overseeing and directing hospital operations to meet established goals aligned with the hospital’s mission. Collaborate with the board to set strategic direction based on community needs.

Evaluate hospital cost-effectiveness and recommend long-term plans supporting the hospital’s philosophy and objectives. Keep directors informed about healthcare trends, community health needs, and institutional issues; recommend policy positions on legislation and administrative policies. Attend all board meetings and committees; represent the hospital at medical staff meetings. Appoint an administrative officer during absences, in writing, to the board and leadership team.

Ensure hospital objectives are met through personnel management, including hiring, development, motivation, and evaluation in collaboration with department directors and HR.

Define personnel responsibilities and qualifications; evaluate performance annually. Establish departmental structures and ensure licensures are current. Lead educational initiatives, participate as a teacher/preceptor, and oversee orientation for new staff. Set educational and experience requirements for directors; negotiate contracts and maintain salary structures. Direct policies and procedures, ensuring annual reviews.

Monitor medical activities, coordinate with medical staff and nursing, and develop policies to ensure quality healthcare.

Create a positive working environment for staff physicians. Maintain communication policies for inpatient emergencies. Keep current medical staff rosters.

Promote cost-effective healthcare services while maintaining quality.

Ensure fiscal stability through budget development and management. Plan capital equipment needs and physical resource use; oversee approvals for major purchases.

Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and accreditation standards; monitor service delivery and implement changes as needed.

Engage with the community through communication and public relations initiatives. Represent the hospital in community and professional organizations.

Foster organizational efficiency and resolve disruptions promptly.

Lead change initiatives across services. Maintain safety protocols, coordinate disaster preparedness, and oversee safety programs.

Handle high-stress situations, make rapid decisions, and develop strong relationships with staff and external partners.

Plan and meet deadlines, maintain flexibility, and uphold a professional image. Commit to ongoing professional development and ensure confidentiality and compliance with all applicable laws and policies. Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, or Clinical Discipline required; Master’s preferred. At least 3 years in hospital leadership or CEO roles in behavioral health or acute care. Experience in organizational turnarounds and crisis management in behavioral health settings preferred. Excellent verbal communication skills for patient, family, and staff interactions. Demonstrated knowledge to provide age-appropriate care.
