The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing all inbound operations, storage, and facility maintenance within a high-volume distribution center. This role ensures operational excellence by implementing best practices in warehouse safety, material handling, team leadership, and equipment upkeep. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with at least five years of experience in inbound logistics and inventory storage, a solid background in safety and compliance, and the ability to foster a positive, productive team environment. Position Summary

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing all inbound operations, storage, and facility maintenance within a high-volume distribution center. This role ensures operational excellence by implementing best practices in warehouse safety, material handling, team leadership, and equipment upkeep. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with at least five years of experience in inbound logistics and inventory storage, a solid background in safety and compliance, and the ability to foster a positive, productive team environment.

This position works closely with cross-functional departments including Key Accounts, Independents, and E-Commerce to ensure seamless communication and timely movement of goods. The warehouse team is accountable for delivering inventory accurately and efficiently to these departments, enabling on-time picking, packing, and shipping.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee daily inbound freight operations, including scheduling, receiving, inspection, and put-away processes. Ensure accurate and efficient storage of goods, maximizing warehouse space and inventory integrity. Collaborate with Inventory Control to maintain accurate stock levels and minimize discrepancies. Maintain open and consistent communication with Key Accounts, Independents, and E- Commerce teams. Ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods to internal departments for downstream processing (pick, pack, ship). Serve as a key point of contact for operational planning, inventory flow, and fulfillment coordination. Manage preventive maintenance programs for forklifts, pallet jacks, racking systems, and other material handling equipment. Oversee building maintenance, ensuring facility cleanliness, repairs, and compliance with regulatory standards. Coordinate with outside vendors for equipment repairs, facility improvements, or inspections. Enforce all safety policies and procedures in accordance with OSHA and company standards. Lead regular safety meetings, training sessions, and inspections. Maintain detailed documentation of incidents, corrective actions, and safety improvements. Lead, coach, and develop a team of warehouse associates, leads, and forklift drivers. Schedule labor efficiently to meet daily operational goals while minimizing overtime. Conduct performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and implement performance improvement plans as needed. Identify opportunities to improve warehouse processes, reduce costs, and increase efficiency. Implement lean warehouse practices, including 5S, standard work, and process mapping. Participate in cross-functional projects to support overall business objectives. Foster a culture of respect, empathy, accountability, and teamwork. Promote clear communication between departments to eliminate delays and enhance operational flow. Address employee concerns promptly and professionally, promoting a positive and inclusive work environment.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of experience in warehouse management with a strong focus on inbound operations and material storage. Proven safety leadership experience; OSHA certification or training a strong plus. Experience in forklift and equipment maintenance preferred. Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory processes, and ERP software. Demonstrated success working with cross-functional teams and internal stakeholders. Excellent leadership, coaching, and team-building skills. Strong communication skills with the ability to motivate and lead diverse teams. Demonstrated empathy and understanding in employee relations. High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain, or a related field preferred.
