Sr. Strategic Proposal Partner/Lead
to manage and perform the activities involved in the development and revision of major proposals. Participate as part of a proposal team or lead in the cradle-to-grave development of a proposal. Apply working knowledge of teaming strategies with large and small businesses. Apply knowledge of contract types and contract administration.
Responsibilities
Review RFQ/RFPs for proposal production/documentation guidelines
Research, prepare, and revise proposal materials, including but not limited to resumes, past performance, responses to sources sought, etc.
Work with Capture Manager(s) to develop, maintain, and communicate proposal outline, schedule, and other activities
Craft data calls to solicit required information to develop content for proposal sections
Serve as the point of contact for sources providing information for proposals. Receive and send materials and coordinate the deadlines and materials needed with The Building People staff and teammates
Write compelling, compliant, quality-driven proposal sections or edit existing technical content, as needed, that addresses RFP requirements, while highlighting win themes, features and benefits, risks and mitigation approaches, and discriminators as appropriate
Proofread and review proposal material throughout the proposal development process
Create proposal templates and finalize proposal documents using MS Word and other MS Office software
Establish and maintain files in knowledge management system and file structure
Use standard best practices for submitting compliant proposals
Be consistent in proposal development for style, presentation, and RFP guidelines
Demonstrate personality and leadership skills to engage and motivate a diverse group of proposal contributors
Exhibit strong leadership skills in facilitating and coordinating the content from various sources
Leverage AI tools to enhance content development, process efficiency, and knowledge management
Develop and implement best practices, SOPs, templates, and guides for proposal processes
Qualifications
10-15 years of experience with managing, developing, and writing Proposals in response to U.S. federal and/or Department of Defense Requests for Proposals
Experience leading large, managing complex proposals ($50M+ opportunities), developing, and writing Proposals in response to U.S. federal and/or Department of Defense Requests for Proposals
Expertise in Shipley-based proposal development, FAR compliance, and government contracting
Experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint
Experience with completing individual tasks effectively
Experience with working in a team environment
Familiarity with AI-driven proposal development tools, CRM systems, and knowledge management platforms
Ability to obtain a security clearance
BA or BS degree
Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP) Certification (Preferred)
Shipley Capture Management & Proposal Development Training
