What You’ll Be Doing
Join Verizon’s Financial Planning & Analytics Systems (FPAS) Augmented Analytics team as a Distinguished Engineer. Lead the transformation of financial intelligence using Google Cloud Platform (GCP), BigQuery, Looker, and Gen AI. Collaborate with finance, strategy, and engineering teams to develop scalable, AI-powered analytics solutions that provide insights, forecast performance, and optimize financial outcomes. This high-visibility role involves architecting next-gen data ecosystems, enabling intelligent automation with Vertex AI, and redefining data-driven financial decision-making. Responsibilities include: Designing and developing cloud-native augmented analytics solutions on GCP with BigQuery, Looker, Vertex AI, and other technologies. Building and scaling Gen AI applications for planning, scenario modeling, forecasting, and automated summaries. Partnering with finance leaders to translate financial goals into AI-driven data products. Creating semantic layers and data models in Looker for advanced reporting and analysis. Managing data pipelines from ingestion to insight using Dataflow, Cloud Composer, and Cloud Functions. Automating insights, anomaly detection, and natural language narratives to support decision-making. Operationalizing ML models for cost, revenue, margin, and risk analysis. Improving dashboard performance, UI/UX, and data trust through scalable frameworks. Mentoring analysts, engineers, and data scientists within the FPAS ecosystem. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Six or more years in analytics, data engineering, or financial data architecture. Expertise in GCP, BigQuery, Looker, and Vertex AI. Experience with Gen AI or LLM applications. Strong skills in SQL, Python, Spark, and data pipelines. Proven track record in enterprise analytics platforms for finance or strategy. Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in related fields. Excellent communication skills for engaging senior leadership. Experience with AI forecasting, driver-based modeling, and scenario planning. Knowledge of data governance and multi-tenant environments. Leadership in scaling Gen AI capabilities. Work Location & Schedule
This is a hybrid role with a mix of remote work and at least eight office days per month. Compensation & Benefits
Salary ranges from $137,000 to $263,000 based on location and experience. Benefits include health, wellness, 401(k), stock options, paid holidays, personal days, parental leave, tuition assistance, and more. Additional Information
