Liliʻuokalani Trust Job Purpose

The Director of Program Analytics is responsible for building and leading a high-impact analytics function that supports program recruitment, retention, and satisfaction by beneficiaries (kamaliʻi). This is a highly collaborative, transformational role that entails working across the organization as a thought partner and change agent. The Director will partner with program leaders, data scientists, IT, researchers, communications, and program teams to surface insights and drive data-informed decisions that expand our reach and enhance the delivery of our services for Native Hawaiian youth. This position leads the design and implementation of an an analytics framework that will provide valuable insights to program leadership and delivery teams. The Director plays a pivotal role in ensuring that data-driven insights lead to effective decision-making and the judicious use of resources to connect our programming with the communities we serve. Design and implement a robust analytics approach to develop and measure key performance indicators for our service products. For example, aligned with the Liliʻuokalani Trust (LT) strategic plan, capacity utilization, program participation, retention, and kamaliʻi experience. Define and track metrics that go beyond product performance to reflect user outcomes and social impact indicators. Hire, mentor, and manage a team of analysts, fostering a collaborative and mission-driven culture. Partner with engineering and data teams to ensure data quality and analytic needs are met. Collaborate with Program leadership, Program and Practice Development, and Communications to identify questions, generate insights, and tell stories with data. Represent the voice of data in strategic planning and product reviews; guide senior leaders on data-informed decisions.

Essential Responsibilities

Define and track metrics that go beyond product performance to reflect user outcomes and social impact indicators. Contribute to the Trust's success by accepting new assignments, helping team members, learning new skills, and striving to improve team and organizational impact.

Qualifications

10+ years of experience in product analytics, data science, or related fields, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role. Background in behavioral science or user psychology and/or adult learners. Experience in nonprofit, social enterprise, or education technology sectors. Experience in roles focused on using or producing analytics to improve services and optimize resources, ideally in mission-driven or youth-focused environments. Proficiency in SQL, Python, or R, and modern data visualization tools. Tableau expertise is a plus. Strong understanding of experimentation (A/B testing), cohort analysis, funnel metrics, user segmentation, and qualitative research methods or mixed-methods evaluation. Ability to effectively manage multiple, concurrent projects with limited supervision. Adept at aligning work to the organization’s needs and proactively reprioritizing work to avoid missed deadlines/expectations. Ability to communicate at different levels to connect with program leadership, technical teams, and executives.
