Oracle Job Description Are you a self-motivated engineer ready to build large-scale, mission-critical distributed systems and cloud services? OCI’s OLTP organization offers exciting opportunities! Our fast-growing engineering team is looking for a Software Engineer to help us develop the next-generation cloud data platforms. Join us today! As an engineer at any level, you can have a significant technical and business impact. Our team specializes in distributed database systems and cloud services. We seek candidates with experience or strong interest in databases, distributed systems, and cloud technologies. There are always new challenges, whether enhancing existing products or creating new ones from scratch. As part of the Cloud Services Development team, you will own software design and development for key components of Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure, serving as the central database store for Oracle Public Cloud. Recommended skills include: 6+ years of experience with large-scale, highly available distributed systems or cloud services Strong knowledge of Java and scripting languages such as Python or Perl Understanding of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, distributed systems, and cloud fundamentals Familiarity with networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP) and network architectures Knowledge of databases, NoSQL systems, storage, and distributed persistence, especially in cloud environments Experience with Terraform and/or Ansible is preferred Responsibilities Design, develop, and troubleshoot software for databases, applications, tools, and networks. Provide technical leadership and implement modifications to existing architectures to meet evolving needs. Qualifications Note: US roles may require compliance with health mandates.
