Under the direction of the IT Director, the System Administrator is responsible for the management and maintenance of an organization's computer systems. This includes setting up and configuring networks, servers, and security measures to protect against cyber threats. They provide technical support to end-users, troubleshoot issues, and ensure system performance and reliability through monitoring and optimization. The System Administrator also manages backup and recovery strategies, maintains documentation, and implements automation to streamline tasks and minimize errors. The System Administrator is an integral part of the Parker County Hospital District IT team. Their role encompasses compliance with industry regulations, capacity planning, and disaster recovery planning to ensure the smooth operation of IT infrastructure and data integrity. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Implement, maintain, and improve IT infrastructure, including operating systems, servers, applications, security tools, email systems, MDM, and all other related software and hardware. Implement, maintain, and improve network systems, including routers, switches, security appliances, monitoring systems, LANs, WANs, and network segments. Implement, maintain, and improve backup, disaster recovery, and redundancy strategies and components. Install, configure, and maintain workstation software, hardware, printers, monitors, and phones. Maintain and support mission-critical systems including endpoints, servers, network appliances, and communications devices. Implement, maintain, and improve security measures, tools, and monitoring systems in accordance with HIPAA security directives and industry standards. Troubleshoot technology problems and provide technical support to employees. Perform incident review and management as well as assist in conducting root-cause analysis of incidents, outages, or impacts to technology services. Identify potential technology issues and perform proactive planning and implementation of systems. Provide on-call/after-hours support of mission-critical systems when assigned or requested. All other information technology duties as assigned. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Knowledge of computer workstation and server systems of multiple types, including but not limited to Windows and macOS systems Knowledge of computer networking, routing, switching, and security systems Knowledge of backup and recovery systems Knowledge of virtualization technologies Knowledge of SSL, DHCP/DNS/IPAM (DDI), ITAM, and CMDB technologies Knowledge of Active Directory, GPO, Print Management, and Network Share technologies Knowledge of cellular, fiber, radio, and copper connectivity technologies Knowledge of 911 CAD technologies Knowledge of VoIP and traditional phone technologies Knowledge of HIPAA Security Rule REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

2 years experience in information technology with proven success in a related IT role Ability to work independently. High degree of integrity and trust Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills Attention to detail in work and documentation. Work is performed primarily in an office setting at multiple geographic locations, with additional field support where necessary. Work involves pressure due to support of mission-critical services, multiple and/or simultaneous inquiries, and being subject to interruption.
