Our Client, a leading supplement company, is seeking a Director of Manufacturing to oversee our production operations and drive excellence in the creation of high-quality nutritional products. This role is crucial in maintaining our position as a trusted brand in the health and wellness industry.
**This is an in person role in the San Diego, CA area
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement strategic manufacturing plans aligned with company objectives
Lead and mentor a team of manufacturing professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
Optimize manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve productivity
Ensure compliance with FDA regulations, cGMP standards, and other relevant industry requirements
Manage manufacturing budgets and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, quality assurance, and supply chain
Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive operational excellence
Implement and sustain Lean Manufacturing principles and methodologies
Oversee high-volume production lines for pills, capsules, or softgels
Lead audits and ensure compliance with all relevant standards and certifications
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Operations Management; MBA or Master's in Engineering preferred
Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing operations, with 5+ years in a Director or Senior Manager role
Proven track record in GMP compliance within regulated environments (supplements, food, or pharmaceuticals)
Expertise in Lean Manufacturing principles and methodologies
Strong experience in pill, capsule, or softgel manufacturing processes
Demonstrated ability to manage and optimize labor resources
In-depth understanding of FDA, cGMP, NSF, and other regulatory requirements for dietary supplement manufacturing
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
Experience with advanced manufacturing technologies and Industry 4.0 applications is a plus
Compensation: 190,000-200,000 plus full benefits!
