Warehouse Management System Specialist

reports to the Senior Logistics Manager and plays a critical role in recommending, developing, and maintaining systems that support facility operations, logistics, and inventory processes. This individual collaborates closely with the US Team to ensure consistent practices across all Ryder warehouses. Essential Functions: Maintain optimal slotting configuration to ensure operational efficiency. Manage staffing performance and development for junior and senior team members. Develop and oversee inter-related computer systems to support operations across production, maintenance, warehousing, and administration. Provide comprehensive training on hardware and software systems. Ensure smooth functionality of JDA WMS including allocations, putaway, and replenishment processes. Work with operations to enhance processes and resolve system issues. Manage labor management systems and provide relevant data to site leadership. Assess and support evaluation/development plans for direct reports. Maintain, troubleshoot, and improve all WMS interfaces, material handling systems, RF devices, and other hardware. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for system management. Conduct velocity and layout analyses and implement changes as necessary. Ensure team members acquire essential skills and performance traits aligned with both business and personal growth objectives. Additional Responsibilities: Complete additional duties as assigned. Skills and Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for user interaction. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and proactively manage daily tasks. Demonstrates strong customer service skills to meet the operation group's needs. Exhibits problem-solving skills for initial troubleshooting of user issues. Strong analytical skills are a must. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, technical, or a related field is required. Minimum 3 years of experience in logistics, transportation, or warehouse-related fields. At least 2 years of experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS). Expertise in PC troubleshooting. Intermediate knowledge of warehousing activities. Advanced SQL server skills. Proficient in MS Excel with advanced capabilities. Intermediate knowledge of warehouse software and routing/dispatch systems is preferred. Experience in transportation environments (shipping, receiving, inventory management) is preferred. Travel:
