asic Duties and Responsibilities: Serve as a contact person for the campus community and the Police and Security Services Department. Answer phone calls, handle walk-ins, data entry, use and monitor police radios and fire panel. Student Dispatchers are trained and will know how to gather good information and pass it along to Officers, or other recourses. They will learn how to enter incident information into CAD (Computer Aided Dispatch) system and how to get Officers dispatched quickly and safely. Monitor fire alarms and other alarms on campus, and how to send the Fire Department or get ahold of the correct resource. We do not answer 911 but we do work closely with the Portage County Comm Center to get the help someone may need. Minimum Qualifications:

Must be a fulltime UWSP student, in good academic standings. Semester and cumulative GPA of 2.0 Pass criminal pass criminal background check Pass a student conduct check Pass an interview Ability to read, write, and speak in an understandable, accurate and positive manner. Ability to listen and follow-through with supervisory directions. Possess initiative and the ability to work independently with little supervision. Must be able to work different shift periods including nights and weekends. Ability to render assistance, without judgment of individuals. Must be in good legal standing (No outstanding citations, no criminal record, UWSP Parking Citations, etc.) **24/7 Department & Must be available to work nights, weekends, holidays & winter & summer breaks.

Hourly wage: $16.00
