The Department of Taxation is looking to fill up to one (1) IT Project Manager 1 in our Project Management Office. What You'll Do as an IT Project Manager 1: Execute planning and organizing projects that support state programs and services with a proactive, can-do attitude. Tracks project timelines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure goals are met and progress is clearly communicated. Coordinates with internal departments and external partners to support effective and collaborative project execution. Prepares reports, meeting notes, and documentation in line with Department of Taxation's guidelines for project transparency. Helps identify risks or delays and supports mitigation/resolution efforts through teamwork and problem-solving. Ensures projects follow agency policies, procedures, methodology, and compliance guidelines while fostering open communication and collaboration across teams. 3 yrs. exp. in project management (i.e., management & development of project/program requirements, design, development, testing/pilot, training & full scale implementation), with experience to be commensurate with project/program &/or position description on file (e.g., specific human service program area, management information sciences, fiscal); 12 mos. exp. in budgeting & calculating cost projections of program/projects. -Or Successful completion of 2 yrs. post-secondary education majoring in business administration, public administration, computer science/information technology, social science, or health, with major being commensurate with project to be assigned; 12 mos. exp. in budgeting & calculating cost projections of program/projects. -Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above. Technical Skills: Project Management Professional Skills: Teamwork The final candidate selected for the position will be required to undergo a criminal background check. Section 2961 of the Ohio Revised Code prohibits individuals convicted of a felony including but not limited to fraud, deceit, or theft from holding a position that has substantial management or control over the property of a state agency.
