Job Description: Maryland Environmental Service has an opening for a Shift Engineer or Chief Engineer at our Central Maryland Correctional facility in Sykesville, MD. This position provides direction and supervision for the operation and maintenance of a steam plant operating shift within MES.

Estimated Pay Range:

Shift Engineer: $73,547.00 - $101,127.12

Chief Engineer: $97,890.21 - $134,599.61

Both position levels require graduation from a standard high school or possession of a GED equivalent certificate. Must have a valid driver's license with less than 5 points and a First Grade State of Maryland Stationary Engineer's License.

Additional Requirements:

Shift Engineer -three (3) years of operating experience in the power generation industry. Chief Engineer -four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in the power generation industry, including two (2) years at the management level.

A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field from an accredited university is preferred.

Note: Applicants may substitute additional experience as defined above for the required education at the rate of one year of experience to one year of education, for up to four years of the required education.
