Strategic Buyer
Responsible for source selection and procurement functions associated with Alliant Power remanufacturing, distribution, and the efficient and cost-effective procurement of products, supplies, and services used during daily business. Products and services are to be secured at cost, quality, and delivery competitive levels consistent with company policy and performance standards. The Strategic Buyer is expected to be the procurement subject matter expert on the Procurement Team and is expected to provide the Procurement Leader with relevant procurement and supplier reports, analyses, and strategic supplier input. Key Departmental Responsibilities Forecast Planning Analyze historical sales data, market trends, promotional activities, and other relevant factors to generate accurate forecasts Maintains accurate purchase unit cards, stock keeping unit cards, and associated procurement records in Navision and Advanced Forecast Planning (i.e. Additional stock and advanced forecast parameters) Monitoring real-time market conditions and adjusting demand forecasts as needed to react to changing customer behavior or market dynamics with the collaborate of the PMTs Collaborative and question additional stock request Vendor Management Maintains appropriate inventory levels to assure on-shelf availability for distribution and manufacturing. Places and maintains supplier purchase orders for inventory Processes timely purchases and transfers to assure specified on-shelf availability is maintained at all warehouses Expedites product delivery from suppliers Track vendor shipments and communicate with key stakeholders Prepares and handles stock returns annually Reconciles price discrepancies with suppliers and forwards changes to accounting Works with inventory team to monitor and control obsolete and slow-moving inventory Sourcing Interviews and confers with current and prospective suppliers to determine supply capabilities, transportation logistics, inventory control and management for sourcing Manages supplier delivery and back-order performance. Analyzes, troubleshoots, and reports recurring problems relative to late deliveries and supplier performance to supplier, quality department, and PMT. Provides information regarding sources of supply, supplier identification, evaluation criteria, information gathering, contract reviews, price comparisons, negotiations (payment terms/MSOs/stock returns/freight/core terms) to PMT for source selection decisions. Manages source selection decisions Secures and analyzes quotes, negotiates price, and terms with suppliers and recommends suppliers with respect to cost, quality and delivery competitiveness Other Coordinates, as appropriate, quality matters and engineering changes/developments between company activities and suppliers Works with the Procurement Leader to develop, update, and implement procurement policies and controls. Provides feedback on system needs/changes Operates in conformance with the requirements of the quality management system (EQMS) Performs other job-related duties and assignments as required Performance Factors Attendance and dependability:

Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree is preferred and/or 3 to 5 years of experience in procurement. Distribution and/or manufacturing experience in the transportation industry, with emphasis on diesel products and systems preferred. Working usage of ERP systems, Navision and BC preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, O365 preferred. Key traits required for success: Analytical thinker, results driven, detail oriented, problem solver, team player.
