Adjunct Faculty - Anatomy & Physiology

The Department of Natural Sciences is seeking an Adjunct instructor for our introductory Anatomy and Physiology Lecture course. The Adjunct instructor will be responsible for teaching an introductory course in Anatomy & Physiology (BIO 207) designed primarily for first-year students in the Nursing major. The lecture meets for 1 hour and 20 minutes twice a week and is coupled with a 1 credit laboratory that meets once a week to be taught by a separate instructor. It is one part of a two-semester sequence. The student learning objectives are as follows: 1) acquire and use the language of anatomy and physiology, 2) understand the levels of organization of the human body, 3) understand organ systems, and their components, processes, and functions, and 4) have a thorough enough understanding of these principles that you may apply them to human behavior, health, physiology, and pathology in the future. Knowledge and Skills: Experience with active learning in both an online and face to face modality Demonstrate analytical and organizational skills necessary to plan, implement and evaluate educational activities to assure compliance with established goals and objectives Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written, necessary to interact effectively with all university constituents Strong time management/organizational skills Demonstrated commitment to working with diverse populations $2,800 - $3,000 per semester Required Qualifications: Candidate should possess a master's degree or higher in an appropriate field, have experience that relates to the course material and facility with the online environment.
