The Position
This role presents a fantastic opportunity to be part of a high-performing team driving next-generation high powered compute infrastructure and an opportunity to work with leading technology providers and industry pioneers. The Procurement Manager is responsible for managing the procurement lifecycle for critical infrastructure, equipment, and services required for NorthMark's high-performance compute center. This role ensures cost-effective, timely, and high-quality procurement while mitigating supply chain risks. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in strategic sourcing, vendor management, and contract negotiations within the data center industry.
Responsibilities:
Develop and execute procurement strategies for data center infrastructure, including power systems, cooling equipment, network hardware, construction materials, and professional service providers. Understand program schedules and develop proactive plans to ensure long-lead time and critical items are procured and delivered in time to maintain overall development timelines
Lead supplier negotiations to secure optimal pricing, terms, and service levels.
Analyze market trends, supplier capabilities, and emerging technologies to drive cost savings and efficiency.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements. Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, manufacturers, and contractors.
Provide logistics support for product and service delivery Conduct supplier performance evaluations and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Develop risk mitigation plans to ensure supply chain resilience and reduce disruptions. Lead contract negotiations for major procurement agreements, ensuring favorable terms and risk mitigation.
Collaborate with legal and finance teams to oversee contract execution and compliance.
Manage service-level agreements (SLAs) and ensure vendors meet contractual obligations. Work closely with engineering, operations, and construction teams to align procurement with project timelines and requirements.
Support capital expenditure (CAPEX) planning and cost control initiatives.
Identify and drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce lead times
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field (Master's preferred).
7+ years of procurement experience, preferably in data center, critical infrastructure, or high-tech environments.
Proven expertise in contract negotiations, supplier management, and strategic sourcing.
Strong knowledge of construction and/or data center procurement categories (UPS, generators, cooling, racks, network gear, etc.).
Experience with global supply chains, logistics, and risk mitigation strategies.
Proficiency in ERP and procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Coupa).
Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Experience with hyperscale or colocation data centers.
Understanding of sustainability and ESG considerations in procurement.
Certification in CPSM, CIPS, or PMP is a plus.
