Job Title: Diabetic Training Nurse
Responsible for providing Diabetic Training to employees and patients along with professional nursing care to patients with a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude to foster a supportive and therapeutic environment. Essential Duties And Job Functions
Notify physician of significant changes in status such as difficulties with detox, medical emergency or change in medical status regarding response to medications, etc. Ensure nursing treatment plans are specific to assessed needs and initial treatment plan is completed upon admission. Demonstrate knowledge and utilization of universal precautions in providing direct patient care. Accurately administer medications per ordered note and document accurate count of controlled substance medication administration on required documents. Responsible for completing admission and discharge processed efficiently and accurately as directed. Exhibit therapeutic rapport with patients by maintaining professional boundaries, being respectful to personal space, giving patient direct attention and maintaining rational detachment. Education/Experience/Skill Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited university. Licensed as a registered nurse in NC. Current certification as a Certified Diabetes Care & Education Specialist (CDCES) 1 year experience as a CDCES in a healthcare setting. Considerable knowledge/experience in nursing philosophy, policy, practices, and procedures. Min 3 yrs Clinical experience combined/related to teaching experience. Ability to work with male and female, adult (18+) substance abuse/dually diagnosed population. CPI and CPR Required (provided by the facility) Benefit/Compensation (after 30 days of employment):
